Frequently Asked Questions

What will I need to bring?

We suggest customers bring drinks, lunch, snacks, sunscreen, and weather permitting gear. You do not want to be cold and wet on the water. Obtaining a FISHING LICENSE is a must! Make sure you have it physically with you. There is a no-fee recreational marine fishing registry for the Hudson River. For more information, go to www.DEC.ny.gov or call 1-866-933-2257 to register. Everyone 16 years of age and older must register prior to fishing.

What is provided?

Fishing tackle, rods, reels, live bait, artificial lures, a memorable time, amazing service, great attitude, and most of all FUN!

What can I expect to catch?

The Hudson River has a variety of fish that may bite.  We can't control what fish bite, however, our target species is Striped Bass.  The Hudson River common species include: Striped Bass, Drum (commonly referred to as sheepshead), Channel Catfish, Brown Catfish, American Eel, Carp, and Short Nosed Sturgeon.

Am I guaranteed to catch a fish?

There are so many factors that go into catching a fish, so, in short, the answer is no, we cannot guarantee a catch.  What we can guarantee, is that you will have a great time no matter the amount of fish caught.  The fishing is what it is sometimes, it is our job to put you in the best position to catch fish.  We will not go out fishing if we think there is a poor chance of catching fish. Nature has a funny way of humbling even the best of us, so it is not a guarantee but we will give her all we got!

Can I keep my catch?

24/7 Support

We abide by the ENCON regulations, however, please keep in mind Striped Bass are traveling up the Hudson River from the ocean to spawn. There is a specific slot limit for keeping bass, but also a limit on how many fish a person should eat monthly due to water quality.  We highly encourage catch and release.

Can I bring alcohol or tobacco?

Advanced Tech

If you would like to bring beer or any type of hard seltzer on your trip, we will keep it cold for you. No hard liquor is allowed. Keep in mind, this is a fishing trip, not a drinking trip. We want you to have fun, and most of all, catch fish. Use of Tobacco, cigarettes, cigars, smokeless tobacco, chewing tobacco, zyns, and vape, is allowed.  Absolutely no drugs of any kind or legal marijuana allowed. Captain's orders overrule all company policies when on the water as safety is our first priority.

What if I don't have a lot of experience?

It is our job to put you in the position to catch fish.  All we ask, is that you listen to what we have to say in order to guide you in the best possible position to catch fish.  You have 2 eyes, 2 ears and one mouth... look and listen first! We can't wait to teach people the ropes!

What is the pricing structure?

We operate an open boat policy for up to 4 people.  This allows for singles and doubles to fish, and also allows for a party of up to 4 people to fish together. The price is per person. A 10% discount will be applied to family, friends, military, and first responders.
